The 4oth Anniversary Commission at Lake Point Tower has been a busy group.

A building video and brochure have already been released.

Publication of Lake Point Tower, A Design History, by Ed Windhorst and Kevin Harrington is scheduled for September.

Tours of the building and grounds have been conducted over the summer and will continue into the fall, including an open house and tour for realtors.

But the biggest celebrations are set for October.  On 3 October, a private party for residents of LPT and visiting dignitaries is set for 3:00 p.m.

A 40th Anniversary Symposium on Lake Point Tower will be held 28 October at the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Lecture Hall Gallery, 224 S. Michigan, at 12:15-1:00.  The event will feature speakers George Schipporeit, LPT architect; Bill Hartnett, LPT developer; and authors Ed Windhorst and Kevin Harrington. It’s free and open to the public.  You’re welcome to bring a bag lunch.  A book-signing will follow the talk.
